- Nothing on this blog represents the position of Denver Seminary. I am a Christian, philosopher, teacher, writer, and preacher, who is Professor of Philosophy at Denver Seminary. My most recent of my twelve books is Philosophy in Seven Sentences. My magnum opus is Christian Apologetics: A Comprehensive Case for Biblical Faith (InterVarsity Press, 2011). I have published ten others, including Truth Decay and On Jesus. I direct the Christian Apologetics and Ethics MA program at Denver Seminary.

Dr. Groothuis,
I just finished reading Christian Apologetics and found it to be the best apologetics book I have ever read (I have ready about 30). I was blessed by the comprehensive scope of the book and the cumulative case that you build.
I was especially encouraged by your chapter on the problem of evil. I found your argument to be the best that I have encountered on that issue. I was especially moved by your writing at the end:
"It is in this supernatural reality that the problem of evil is best understood. If the misunderstanding of his own people could not thwart him, if the powers of darkness could not outsmart him, if death itself could not hold him, then we have every reason to trust him as "the Beginning and the End" (Revelation 21:6)."
Thank you for your work in equipping and encouraging so many of us to take our faith in strength and conviction to a needing society.
